According to the Election Commission, 85.35 per cent voting was recorded till 8 pm in Assam. This is the highest voter turnout in the history of Assam. Kerala recorded the second highest voter turnout in the last 49 years, with 77.97% voter turnout. Puducherry recorded 89.78 per cent voter turnout. At least 30 people were injured and seven people were arrested in the election-related violence in Assam. At least 25 people were injured in the clash between Congress and BJP supporters at Patharkandi in Sribhumi district, two of whom are in critical condition.
