Duleep Trophy 2026 prize money details, how many crores will be given to the winning team

There is a fierce competition between East Zone and South Zone to become champions in the Duleep Trophy. Both teams are face to face in the final from 6 to 10 September at the M. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. While the players are sweating for the trophy on the field, there is also curiosity among the fans about how much money the team winning the title will get as a reward this time.

According to the BCCI's cricket prize money, the champion team of the Duleep Trophy will be given Rs 1 crore, the team losing in the final also does not have to return empty-handed. The runner-up will get Rs 50 lakh as a prize.

But it is important to understand one thing clearly here that Rs 1 crore is not given only to the captain or any one player. This is the prize money of the entire winning team. After this, there is a separate arrangement to distribute the amount between the players and the support staff.

Big change happened three years ago

The prize money of the Duleep Trophy was very low earlier. The BCCI had changed the prize money of domestic cricket in 2023 from Rs 40 lakh to Rs 1 crore. At the same time, the prize for the runner-up was increased from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 50 lakh. That is, the amount received for both the places was increased significantly.

Ishan Kishan is taking over the command of the East Zone in the final. Along with captaincy, he also took his team to a strong position with the bat. Ishan played a brilliant innings of 270 runs in 334 balls. His innings included 30 fours and 7 sixes. Staying at the crease for about two days, he made a significant contribution to the team.
