Vadodara: An elderly man died on the spot after a cyclist was hit by a dumper of the Vadodara Municipal Corporation near Vadsar Bridge in Vadodara city. The road was filled with puddles of blood following the accident. On being informed about the incident, Manjalpur police rushed to the spot and started further investigation into the matter. According to the information received, the elderly man was riding a bicycle on the road near Vadsar Bridge. In the meantime, the Vadodara Municipal Corporation's dumper was coming out of the petrol pump filled with diesel and it hit the elderly man. Following this, the elderly man was seriously injured and died on the spot. The eyewitness further said that a lady came to the dumper driver who was standing in front of the accident and asked him 'what did he do?' The dumper driver fled the spot after leaving the vehicle as soon as the accident occurred. Following the incident, crowds of people gathered near Vadsar Bridge and witnessed scenes of traffic jams. A search has been launched for the driver of the dumper who fled the scene of the accident.
Officers and staff of Manjalpur police station rushed to the spot as soon as the incident was reported and immediately started an investigation.
