Former KKR player caught in 'cocaine' scan, banned for one month

Former Australian cricketer Chris Lynn has been banned for a month. Cocaine was found in Lynn's drug test, after which the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) regulator imposed a one-month ban on him. On July 18, on the day of the final of the T20 Blast tournament, Chris Lynn was tested for drugs. On Friday, the ECB regulator said that Lynn has now completed his one-month ban.

Earlier there was a 3-month ban

Chris Lynn was previously banned for three months, but the Australian cricketer had completed his rehabilitation. The ECB regulator deemed that the consumption of banned substances by Chris Lynn was not meant to boost performance, so the suspension period was reduced from 3 months to one month after the completion of rehab.

On July 18, the Northamptonshire Steelbacks defeated the Hampshire Hawks by 14 runs in the final of the T20 Blast. About a month later, on August 20, Chris Lynn reacted to the allegations and admitted that he had consumed cocaine on July 15 and July 16. On July 31, the regulator had told Chris Lynn that he had tested positive for drugs. His suspension ended on August 30.
