Double murder case complainant's friend attacked in Porbandar: 6 men including Vanraj Keshwala tried to kill him at gunpoint

Divyesh alias Divubhai Nathabhai Odedara was attacked in Bagvadar area of Porbandar. Six men, including Vanraj Parbatbhai Keshwala, beat him up near the Randal Mataji temple and tried to kill him at gunpoint. Police have registered a case under serious sections in the matter and started investigation. According to police sources, an old rivalry is the reason behind the attack. The complainant's friend Rambhai Chauhan was named as an accused in the double murder case near Virbhanuni Khambhi. Divyesh Odedara and Rambhai Chauhan were present in the court in connection with the case. Accused Vanraj Keshwala was also present in the court at that time. Vanraj was upset that Divyesh Odedara did not call him. Due to this anguish, Vanraj Keshwala and five of his accomplices formed an illegal society and attacked Divyesh Odedara. During the attack, one of the accused kicked Divyesh from behind. Vanraj Keshwala and his accomplices then threatened to kill Divyesh by abusing him in public. In the attack, Divesh sustained injuries on the middle finger of his left hand, elbow of his right hand as well as near his nose and eyes. The accused, Vanraj Keshwala, misused his licensed weapon and tried to shoot Divyesh. However, other persons present at the spot could not fire as they put down their weapons in time and Divyesh survived. The use of a licensed weapon in this manner and the violation of the conditions of the license is a serious matter. Porbandar police have registered a case of assault with intent to commit assault, formation of an unlawful association, intimidation and under the Arms Act against Vanraj Keshwala and other unidentified accused. The police are currently making intensive efforts to arrest the accused and the incident is being investigated in depth.
