150 vector control teams have been deployed in Gandhinagar to control the water-borne epidemic, 271 suspected fever patients were found in the survey of 30,000 households.

The health system of Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation has been activated to prevent the outbreak of mosquito-borne and water-borne diseases after the rains took a break in Gandhinagar city and surrounding areas. Intensive operations are being carried out on war footing by around 150 Vector Control teams to check the infestation of mosquitoes in the water collected during the monsoon season. Survey of 30,000 houses and destruction of larvae Checks were carried out across the city during the last three days by the health department of the municipal corporation. The 150 teams visited more than 29,759 households and inspected a total of 38,624 utensils, including water tanks, barrels, pots, and pots. During the investigation, mosquito larvae were found in 629 containers out of 395 houses, which were destroyed on the spot and insecticide 'Abate' was sprayed. During the investigation, 271 patients with suspected fever were found, whose blood samples were immediately sent for laboratory testing. Operations through Drone Technology and Fogging In addition to the traditional methods, modern technology is being used for mosquito control. More than 3000 litres of biolarvicides have been sprayed in ponds and inaccessible places with the help of drones, which will continue in the month of August. 430 litres of burnt oil has been sprayed in sewers, pits, and pits to ward off mosquitoes, and cold fogging has been done in 1392 houses. The Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation has appealed to the citizens to wear full-sleeved clothes, use mosquito nets and avoid stagnant water in or around their homes.
