Married minor girl commits suicide in Gandhinagar: Husband booked for abetment after finding suicide note with 'My husband is not a man but an animal', Vavol Gokulpura incident

Kavita Gurjar, a 17-year-old student of class 12 at Vavol Gokulpura in Gandhinagar, committed suicide by hanging herself at her home on March 23, 2026. Months after the incident, the Sector 7 police registered a case of abetment to suicide against the deceased's husband Sonu alias Nanalal Gurjar on the basis of a complaint lodged by the deceased's father. Woman hangs herself after tying a dupatta with an iron angle According to the complaint filed by Kanhaiyalal Gurjar, who is originally from Rajasthan and is currently in the scrap business in Vavol, his daughter Kavita was married to Sonu alias Nanalal Gurjar of Tilloli village in Rajasthan in March 2023. On March 23, when Kavita was alone at home, she tied a dupatta to an iron angle of the ceiling and hanged herself. Doctors declared him dead on arrival at the hospital after which the family went home for the last rites. 'Main mere pati se bahut paresh hoon' When the family, who had returned in May after completing the funeral, cleaned the house, a letter with Kavita's signature was found under the safe. In the suicide note written in Hindi, Kavita wrote, "Mere pati se mein parsan ho gayi, main ab mar rahi hoon, who mujhe roz talkta hai, family wale se bhi baat nahi karne deta hai, who aadmi nahi janwar hai, mere ghar walon mujhe kuch bhi nahi bola, mein mere pati se bahut pareshan hoon." Apart from this, her husband Nanalal used to harass Kavita by phone-messaging her and constantly creating mental pressure by keeping the status of death in Instagram DP. The Sector-7 police have registered a case and started further investigation after the police seized the suicide note and conducted an investigation with the help of FSL.
