The first thing that comes to mind when one hears the name of Gir is the magnificent personality of a lion. But behind this grandeur there is a power that is often invisible and that is the mother of the lioness. Jay Bhinde, a young wildlife photographer from Rajkot, has captured this amazing journey in his camera and while describing this journey, he says that the true power of the future lions of Gir is motherhood. The king of the jungle does not become a king by birth, it is the loving motherhood of a lioness. Every day in the jungle is a new test for them
Jay Bhinde, a young wildlife photographer from Rajkot, said, "Talking about my journey with the lion on World Lion Day today, when small cubs are born, they are completely dependent on their mother. In the early days of life, the lioness keeps them in a safe place, feeds them milk and is constantly alert to protect them from every danger. Every day in the forest is a new test for them, where mother's love and protection are their greatest strength. Over time, the lioness teaches its cubs not only to survive but also to survive in the wild. Cubs learn how to hunt, how to recognize danger and how to live in harmony with nature from their mothers. It is this lesson that makes them self-reliant in future. A lively tale of love, patience, struggle and selfless dedication
As a wildlife photographer, I have got the opportunity to capture many moments spent with the lioness and her cubs in the Gir forest. Not every picture is just a scene; It is a living story of a mother's love, patience, struggle and selfless dedication. World Lion Day is not only a day to remind us of the pride of the lion, but also to honour the indelible contribution of the lioness. Because today's little children are going to become the pride of Gir tomorrow, and the most important guide in this journey is their mother. It is the responsibility of all of us to preserve the natural habitat of Gir, to allow the wildlife to remain in its natural environment and to preserve this invaluable heritage for the next generation.
