With the onset of summer in Bharuch district, the mercury has been steadily rising. Due to the rising heat, people are avoiding going out in the afternoon and the use of ACs and coolers has also increased. The Meteorological Department has also predicted heatwave-like conditions in the coming days. Bharuch district recorded a maximum temperature of 39 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 22 degrees Celsius. The humidity dropped to just 13 per cent and the wind speed was around 16 kilometers per hour. According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature is likely to rise further to 40 degrees Celsius in the next four days. As the heat increases, farmers have been advised to irrigate their crops as needed. It has been advised to spray pesticides in the crops keeping in view the wind speed.
