Surat rain: Heavy rains lash Surat city, waterlogging on roads again

Surat: the meteorological department's forecast of rainfall has been raining heavily in Surat city since early this morning. Several areas of Surat city have been waterlogged following heavy rains. The Meteorological Department has predicted torrential rains in the state for the next seven days.   The met department has forecast rainfall across the state for seven days. According to the Meteorological Department, there may be heavy to moderate rains in different districts of the state for the next seven days. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea amid forecast of heavy rains

Today, an orange alert of rain has been issued in 12 districts and two Union Territories of Daman and Dadra nagar Haveli. While a yellow alert of rain has been issued in 16 districts.  An orange warning of rain has been issued in Amreli, Bhavnagar, Navsari, Valsad as well as Daman and Dadranagar Haveli. The state is currently recording universal rainfall as three systems are active. Light to moderate rainfall has been recorded in Saurashtra, Kutch, North Gujarat, Central Gujarat. In south Gujarat, Meghraja is batting stormy. According to the Meteorological Department, good universal rainfall is expected in the state till July 8.
