Swatantra arrested in case of assault on CJP worker's father: Police yesterday said - action will be taken within 72 hours; Hindu organisations protest outside police station

Swatantra Bhardwaj, accused of assaulting Sanjay, father of Kokroch Janata Party activist Rishu Azad, was arrested by the Delhi Police on Saturday. The police produced him virtually in the Patiala court. The court has sent him to a one-day police remand. Swatantra was arrested from Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh a day ago. The Kokroch Janata Party staged a three-hour protest outside the Parliament Street police station on Friday for Swatantr's arrest. After this, the police assured him of arrest within 72 hours. On the other hand, on Saturday, activists of Hindu outfits reached outside the police station to protest in support of Swatantrat. The police have taken a written complaint against Rishu and his father from him. Swatantra Bhardwaj-Nishu Azad case- Sequence of events of the last 2 days September 4: CJP leaders and supporters staged a demonstration outside the Parliament Street police station in support of Nishu Azad and his father. Advocate Rishabh Ranjan, appearing for Nishu, demanded that the police add relevant sections of attempt to murder, criminal intimidation and SC/ST Act. The police added these sections. Swatantra was taken into custody. September 5: A Hindu organisation staged a demonstration in Delhi in support of Swatantra Bhardwaj. The protest was called by Daksha Chaudhary. Daksha is known for beating and slapping high-profile people. He also slapped Kanhaiya Kumar. Victim, accused and Delhi Police's side in the assault case.... 1. Victim Party- Sanjay Kumar/Nishu Azad CJP activist Nishu Azad's father Sanjay Kumar was injured during the CJP protest at Jantar Mantar on June 23. A case was registered at the Parliament Street police station on Sanjay's complaint. Nishu alleges that his father's head was broken and even after a month and a half, the police did not take adequate action. 2. Accused- Swatantra Bhardwaj Swatantra Bhardwaj claimed in a viral podcast that he attacked Sanjay on the head and received 60 stitches. He also said that he did not have to go to jail. Later, Bhardwaj retracted his statement and said that it was not an attack but self-defence. He claims that 10-15 people surrounded him and if he had not acted in defence, the mob could have killed him. 3. Delhi Police's side According to the police, Sanjay Kumar suffered injuries on his head on June 23 due to a bracelet. Sanjay was taken to RML Hospital for a medical examination. In the medico-legal case, the injury was said to be normal. The police termed the claim of skull fracture/fracture as false. Earlier, the police called Swatantra for questioning but let him go. Now, after pressure from the CJP, he was taken into custody again and new sections were added to the case. Before his arrest, Swatantra had told the media that no one can harm me. Before his arrest, Swatantra was on his way to Delhi via Bulandshahr after leaving Jewar. He then stopped in Hasanpur and spoke to the media for about 3 minutes. Swatantra said- "Whether Trump comes or Netanyahu comes. That the entire Opposition, including Rahul Gandhi, will come to the streets, no one can harm me. I am working for Sanatan." Nishu's father's viral video was seen threatening; In the viral video, Sanjay Azad says... I want to say that some people are saying that they inadvertently hit me on the head and think that someone has shot a big arrow. So I want to say that if the police had not come there for two minutes, then you can see in the photo how you were plighted. The police were under the illusion that I was beating you, so they caught me by mistake. Fight face to face, I am ready to meet you wherever you want." When Bhaskar asked him about this video, he said that this video is half the truth. Sanjay said, "I just said that if he wants to fight, come to fight, I will come wherever he says. He suddenly attacked me, if you want to fight, come forward and fight.
