Gandhinagar: An important decision of the revenue department, a copy of the document will be available sitting at home for just Rs 100

The Department of Revenue took an important decision regarding the copies of

documents. Copy of any registered document will be available from the mobile phone sitting at home without physically visiting the Sub-Registrar's offices. For this, the state revenue department has fixed a processing charge of Rs 100. A notification has been issued.

In Gujarat, citizens have to go to the sub-registrar's office in person to get a copy of the documents related to property and the agreement registered. Even after applying online, one had to pay a charge of Rs 20 per page for an authentic copy of the registered document. The number of pages of the relevant documents is more than 12. Hence, digitization of such documents led to the Sub Registrar's office charging more than Rs. 240 at the rate of Rs. 20 per page

To ensure that all documents registered with the State Revenue Department are already in digital format and accessible to the citizens through online application" AnyROR” A simple copy of Index-2 is made available on the portal. A certified copy of the same has been made available on the IORA portal. The revenue department has fixed a processing charge of Rs 100 through a notification so that any citizen can get a soft copy from these two portals. At the same time, the burden on Sub Registrar Offices will be reduced.

decision has been taken in exercise of the powers conferred under the Registration Act, 1908. The state government has made necessary amendments to the year-old notification dated August 3, 1987. After this amendment by the revenue department, now there has been a change in the official table of government fees. Earlier rules did not have any provision for separate processing charges for online registration, but now this new fee has been introduced keeping in view the magnitude of digital services

Revenue Department has also made an important clarification in this regard that this amount of ₹100 is being charged only as processing charges. There is no change in the rates of regular 'stamp duty' and 'registration fee' which were levied earlier for registration of the document. That is, people will have to pay the old regular taxes and fees, but this additional burden of Rs 100 will be added per transaction><
