Income Tax Raids on Restaurants in Gujarat: The Income Tax Department has launched aggressive action to curb the evasion of income tax and GST in restaurants across the country, including Gujarat. The modus operandi of destroying the bills from the records after collecting the money from the customers by making bills has been exposed. Now the Income Tax Department has resorted to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data Analytics to catch such digital theft.

During the investigation, it was revealed that many restaurant owners had developed special types of billing software.
