ICC announces historic Champions Trophy to be played in India

Women Champions Trophy host India: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has made a very exciting and historic announcement for cricket fans. India has been entrusted with the hosting of the first edition of the Women's Champions Trophy to be held next year. This decision has created a lot of enthusiasm among Indian cricket fans. According to the official confirmation of the ICC, this prestigious tournament will be held in India from February 14 to 28 next year.

two major cities of India, Mumbai and Vadodara, will witness this grand cricket festival. All the matches of this tournament will be played at the historic Cricket Club of India in Mumbai and the International Cricket Stadium in Vadodara. The top 6 women's cricket teams in the world are going to participate in this competition. Apart from India, teams from Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa and Sri Lanka will be in the field for this trophy. It is worth noting that the Pakistan women's cricket team will not be a part of this tournament. All these 6 teams have been selected on the basis of the ICC Women's T20 Team Rankings till the cut-off date of July 6

Women's Champions Trophy will be played in a round-robin format. Under this format, each team will play one match each against 5 other teams. After the conclusion of the league stage matches, a thrilling final will be played on February 28 between the top two teams in the points table><

It is worth mentioning here that the tournament was initially to be hosted by Sri Lanka. But the Sri Lanka Cricket Board is currently going through a rigorous process of implementing the mandatory governance reforms suggested by the ICC. At the annual conference held in July, the ICC expressed serious concerns about the internal administration and governance of Sri Lanka Cricket. As a result, Sri Lanka was also banned from being represented at ICC board meetings. Due to all these administrative disputes, the host was withdrawn from Sri Lanka and this great opportunity has been allocated to India.
