
1000 kg Aerial Bomb for IAF: Indian Ministry of Defence has accelerated the indigenous design and development process for construction of 1000 kg state-of-the-art aerial bomb for the Air Force. The prime objective of this project is to reduce foreign dependence in the defence sector and strengthen the 'Make in India' campaign. The bomb will be completely designed and developed in India, which will greatly enhance the destruction capability of the fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force.
Comparison with US 'Mark-84'
This new indigenous bomb is considered to be the equivalent of the famous 'Mark-84' (MK-84) bomb of America.
