In this World Cup match played at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, the Indian team came out to bat first. No Indian batsman could score a fifty on a slow pitch. Harleen Deol was the top scorer for India with 46 runs. Pratika Rawal scored 31 and Jemimah Rodriguez scored 32 runs, while in the last over, Richa Ghosh played a cameo innings of 35 runs in 20 balls to take the Indian team to a score of 247.
Trampling Pakistan badly
Somehow, Sidra Amin and Natalia Parvez shared a 69-run partnership to rescue the Pakistan team from a difficult situation. Parvez was dismissed after scoring 39 runs. After that, captain Fatima Sana became the running after scoring just 2 runs. The Pakistan team lost their last 5 wickets within just 16 runs. Sidra Amin's knock of 81 runs could not save Pakistan from a big defeat of 88 runs.
Unbeaten record of 12-0 intact
The Indian team has defeated Pakistan for the 12th consecutive time in women's ODI cricket history. The two teams first came face-to-face in an ODI match in 2005, since then Team India has dominated Pakistan in every ODI match.
