Earlier, Iran shot down an American fighter jet, the report said. According to the Tasnim news agency, this was an F-15E aircraft, while some media reports have described it as an F-35. The helicopter was targeted while the US was conducting a search operation to rescue its pilot. Iran has also announced a reward for catching the American pilot alive.
