Gujju Jaikishan, who lives in Chali, became the 'hero' of Bollywood: Jackie stayed in Chali even after becoming a star, the film flopped; He built an empire of crores through hard work

The story of Jackie Shroff, popularly known as Bollywood's 'Jaggu Dada', is a shining example of struggle, perseverance and smart investments. Born in Chali in Mumbai's Three Lights area, Jackie faced challenges at every turn in life, but never gave up. Even after the release of 'Hero', Jackie Shroff remained in the same forty for five-six years. Today, he may be living a luxurious lifestyle, but his journey from a common man to a superstar is an inspiring saga. In today's success story, we will know some interesting incidents related to the life and career of Jackie Shroff. Jackie Shroff spent 33 years with his family in a small room in Mumbai's Tin Batti Chali. The seven small buildings had only three bathrooms for everyone. There was a long queue outside the toilet every morning. Jackie, too, had to wait for her turn with a mug in her hand. The family's financial condition was so bad that they used to sit on the floor and eat and sleep on the floor. He was once bitten by a rat while sleeping on the floor and his mother was also bitten by a rat. Occasionally, a snake would be seen in the room. The financial condition of the house was so bad that Jackie had to drop out of school after class 11. In order to support the family, he did odd jobs ranging from selling groundnuts to doing odd jobs. During the days of struggle, Jackie was standing at a bus stand in Mumbai, looking for a job and the condition of the house was not good. Then an accountant from a modeling company offered her to be a model. Due to financial constraints, Jackie accepted the offer. While modelling, she joined an institute to learn acting, where she met Sunil Anand, son of Dev Anand. Impressed by Jackie's physical attributes and acting skills, Sunil sent her to his father. In 1982, Dev Anand gave him a small role in a film 'Swami Dada', but the real breakthrough came in 1983 with Subhash Ghai's film 'Hero'. Even after the release of 'Hero', Jackie Shroff stayed in Mumbai's three batti chali for five-six years. Despite becoming a star, he did not leave his old home for many years. Jackie herself said that she lived in the chawl for 33 years and even after some of her hit films came out, she stayed there. Not only that, even after marrying Ayesha in 1987, Jackie stayed with his wife in the same chawl. Luxurious house But after a family gap Jackie Shroff took a rented house on Carter Road in Bandra. After this, he built a luxurious eight-bedroom house in Khar West and shifted there with his family. Today he lives in a bungalow built in a magnificent area like Pali Hill. Jackie often says that when she moved out of a small room and a life of chawls and moved to a bigger house, the distance in the family also increased. After shifting to a bigger house, everyone had their own room, their own corner and their own privacy, which reduced the time to sit and talk together. After Ayesha got off the bus, Jackie met her and the two talked for a while. A few days later, one of Ayesha's friends approached Jackie and told her that Ayesha felt she should think about acting. He met filmmaker O.P. He also told about an audition being conducted by Ralhan. However, after 'Hero', Jackie Shroff's films like 'Teri Meherbaniyan', 'Kudrat Ka Qanoon', 'Karma', 'Tridev', 'Ram Lakhan', 'Parinda' were hits. He won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor for his performance in Parinda. He was later honoured with the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award for '1942: A Love Story' and 'Rangeela' (1996). Even after reaching the pinnacle of success without losing courage despite the devastation, there came a time in Jackie's life when he went completely bankrupt. In 2003, Ayesha Shroff produced a black comedy film called 'Boom', starring Amitabh Bachchan, Jackie Shroff, Gulshan Grover, Katrina Kaif and Zeenat Aman. The film flopped badly at the box office and the Shroff family was heavily indebted. Jackie also had to sell her house and furniture to repay this debt. Jackie did not give up and started working twice as hard and paid back all the debtors. He kept his children Tiger and Krishna away from this financial crisis and did not let it affect him. "I was devastated after the death of my brother and parents. My father passed away, but I had to go for a shoot the next day. People were standing, the entire unit was waiting, so they kept their grief to themselves and went there and worked. Jackie Shroff's biggest success is the gift of one of his smart investments. In 1995, when Sony Entertainment Television was being launched in India, Jackie decided to invest in it. This investment was so successful that after 15 years, their returns went up to Rs 100 crore for every one lakh rupees. The return on this investment made up for all the losses incurred by the failure of Boom. After 15 years, he sold his shares and his relationship with Sony ended. Talking about his success, Jackie Shroff says, "For me, success is when someone listens to you and does something good about your success. Success means that you can benefit the next generation. By giving them things that we're destroying." "It is success that a father can leave something for his son and his son's son, which will be of use to the generations to come. This is called success. Success is not just about making money or making a name. If you grow good vegetables and take care of that soil, then it is also a success." So that's called success, the ability to leave something behind that will help them move forward." 'Earning money, fame, wealth, all that, but we are small people, the big ones are the kings who have palaces. Be happy, but what are you going to give, Guru? That's what success is all about." "If I say something and someone picks it up and acts on it, it's a success for me. Suppose I said, 'Put up a tree, son!' and you put 10 in place of one, then it is a success.' On the occasion of her 25th wedding anniversary, Jackie bought a magnificent 44,000 sq ft farmhouse between Mumbai and Pune. The farmhouse is full of greenery, with more than 700 plants, a swimming pool, a fish pond, an akhada style gym and a titanic point. Even today, Jackie Shroff is known for his look and style, but he has not forgotten his roots. In his farmhouse, he does organic farming and traditionally cooks food in earthen pots. He had planted a tree 12 years ago in memory of his mother, which still stands tall in the farmhouse. Talking about her look and style, Jackie says, "When I used to live in Chali, I used to buy cloth worth 5-7 rupees from Khadi Bhandar. He used to cut out the curtains, which were strange materials, to make shirts. I loved strange things, because when I walked down the street, the dogs would 'woof-woof' and bark just at me. Yes, I look different. Not shouting at everyone, shouting at me. So, wearing these clothes and that, I became different myself."
