Judge Alpesh Kogje has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the MP High Court: Justice Alpesh Kogje is one of the double judge benches of the judgment given by the High Court in the 2008 Ahmedabad bomb blast case.

Alpesh is the senior-most judge after Chief Justice Sunita Agrawal of the Gujarat High Court. Y. Kogje has been recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium to be the Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court. Alpesh. Y. Kogje is currently handling contempt petitions in a double judge bench of the Gujarat High Court. He is one of the judges of the Double Judge Bench recently appointed by the High Court in the 2008 Ahmedabad bomb blast case. Earlier, Justice N.V. Anjaria from the Gujarat High Court. Anjaria became the Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court, now he is working in the Supreme Court. Before Chief Justice Sunita Agrawal, the then Acting Chief Justice of the Gujarat High Court Ashish Desai became the Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court. Justice Alpesh. Y. Kogje Date of Birth: July 16, 1969 Appointed as a Judge of the Gujarat High Court: April 6, 2016 He was elevated as an Additional Judge on April 6, 2016. Justice Alpesh. Y. Kogje obtained his BSc Chemistry degree in 1990 and LLB degree in 1993. Later, he joined the Bar in 1993 and started his legal practice. He was appointed as Assistant Government Pleader in the year 2001 and as Additional Public Prosecutor in the year 2002 and served in that post till 2007. On June 7, 2011, he was appointed as the Special Public Prosecutor for the Special Investigation Team in the Gujarat High Court. He was also appointed as Special Counsel for the cases under investigation by the Special Task Force. On September 19, 2008, he was appointed as Standing Counsel for the Central Excise and Customs Department. He handled a large number of important cases arising out of the 2002 Godhra riots. He also performed regularly in the High Court in various fields including Special Civil Applications-Services and Non-Service as well as Criminal matters. Later he was appointed as an Additional Judge of Gujarat High Court and assumed charge on April 6, 2016. Subsequently, he was appointed as a Permanent Judge on March 15, 2018.
