LCB raids in Kadi Budasan GIDC: Illegal ghee and adulterated oil worth Rs 1.24 crore seized from 'Ambika Marketing' factory

A formal complaint has been lodged at Kadi police station regarding the quantity of fake and illicit edible oil and ghee seized from a factory named 'Ambika Marketing' at Rajaratna Industrial Estate on the outskirts of Budasan village in Kadi taluka of Mehsana district. This legal action has been taken on the basis of the laboratory report of the FSL and the Food and Drugs Department after the raid of the Mehsana Local Crime Branch (LCB). On the basis of intelligence, the team of LCB Mehsana raided the godowns of the factory at Budasan and seized a large quantity of suspected ghee, palm oil and foreign fat. In the sample report of the Food and Drugs Department, the quantity of ghee was found to be 'substandard' (of poor quality) and the quantity of oil was found to be 'substandard' and 'fatty acid' and adulterated. A total of Rs 1,24,97,440 was involved in the scam compromising the health of the people. A case has been registered against Janakbhai Nathalal Bhavsar, a resident of Chandlodia (Ahmedabad) and an operator with a license in the name of 'Hariom Product'. Further legal investigation has been initiated by registering a case for breach of trust, cheating and manufacturing of substances prejudicial to public health under various sections of BNS at Kadi Police Station.
