The Congress has launched a 'Jan Aakrosh Yatra' in South Gujarat to voice the issues of the citizens of Gujarat. The yatra started from Kaprada in Valsad and reached Khergam and Chikhali talukas of Navsari. Meanwhile, state president Amit Chavda warned the state government that if the problems of the people are not resolved, the Congress will take to the streets in the coming days. Calls for change in tribal areas
The yatra, which was aimed at infusing new life into the Navsari district Congress, travelled through different areas of Khergam and turned into a meeting at Talavchora village in Chikhli. The yatra was led by Amit Chavda and Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly. Tushar Chaudhary did. However, the meeting started 2.5 hours later than its scheduled time. Attack on BJP and AAP
Addressing the gathering, Amit Chavda termed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as the BJP's 'B team' and alleged that the strategy was devised to break the votes of the opposition parties. He further said that pressure is being exerted on Congress-dedicated sarpanches by the BJP government. He criticized the government for taking away water, land and forest rights in the tribal belt. Announcement of legal battle over SIR and voting rights issue
Expressing concern over the irregularities in the issue of Form No. 7 in the second phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), Chavda said that attempts are being made by unknown people to deprive the local citizens of voting rights by filling the form. The Congress will take legal action and file a police complaint in the matter in the coming days. After 20 years, BJP stronghold rally
Interestingly, the Congress has succeeded in holding a meeting after a long gap of 20 years in Talavchora and Baroliya villages, which are considered to be the strongholds of the BJP. The event was made possible with the support of local sarpanch Priyanka Patel. MLA Anant Patel confidently said that the unity of Koli and Patel (white) communities will now create a new political equation in the Chikhli area. Internal grouping on the surface
Amid the success of the yatra, there was also an internal rift in the Congress. At the beginning of the meeting, district Congress president Shailesh Patel seemed upset for some reason and became a topic of discussion among the workers who stayed away from the stage.
