If you want a trophy, come and get it...
Mohsin Naqvi said, "As the chairman of the ACC, I was ready to give the trophy on the same day (after the final) and I am ready to give the trophy even now. If he wants to take the trophy, he is very welcome at the ACC office and come and collect the trophy from me."
What's happened so far
The whole controversy started from there when Team India refused to take the trophy from the hands of ACC Chairman Mohsin Naqvi after defeating Pakistan by 5 wickets in the final. The post-match presentation started late, but due to his stubbornness, Naqvi walked out of the field with the trophy. After that, there was an ACC meeting on September 30, in which BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla asked tough questions to Naqvi.
Earlier, BCCI secretary Devjit Saikia had said that if needed, he would complain about Naqvi in the ICC. Meanwhile, rumors fly that Naqvi has apologized to the BCCI and Team India for the trophy controversy. But in a recent social media post, Naqvi made it clear that he has not apologized to anyone.
