A man was caught playing online cricket gambling in Morbi: Accused arrested for betting on run-match on GT-RCB match

Morbi City B Division police have nabbed a man who was playing online cricket gambling. The action was taken during patrolling on a public road near Trejapar Chowk. The accused, Ajaybhai Shamjibhai Jinjadia, has been arrested. The crime came to light when the police searched Ajaybhai who was found with a mobile phone in a suspicious condition. He was gambling on the Twenty20 cricket match between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on an online app called 'Liveguru'. The accused, Ravi alias Maas Varania (who was not present), used to ask for a player on WhatsApp, make a deal of Rs 150 per run and gamble on losing money on runs. The police seized cash from the accused. Rs. 1,150/- and Rs. A total of Rs. 15000/- including mobile phone worth Rs. Goods worth Rs. 16,150/- have been seized. A case under the Gambling Act has been registered against Ajaybhai Jinjadia and Ravi alias Mass Varania and legal action has been taken.
