Complaint against two moneylenders for threatening a youth in Morbi with 30% interest

A youth living in Khanpar village of Morbi taluka has lodged a police complaint against two moneylenders. The youth was given money at a high monthly interest rate of 30 per cent, and even after paying the amount, including interest, Pathani was extorting money and threatening to kill him to extort more money. The complainant, Parasbhai Rameshbhai Raiyani (32), has lodged a complaint at Morbi taluka police station against Parbatbhai Savjibhai Rabari (resident of Koyali) and Nikunj alias Nitinbhai Vasiangbhai Jharia (resident of Gajdi). He said that in the tenth month of 2025, when he needed money, he took money from the two men on different dates at a high monthly interest rate of 30 per cent. Parasbhai took Rs 4,00,000 from Parbatbhai and Rs 1,50,000 from Nikunj. Against this amount, the accused had got a blank cheque signed by the complainant and the money borrowed by hand as a guarantee. The complainant has so far paid Rs 8.40 lakh to Parbat Rabari and Rs 1.35 lakh to Nikunj Jharia as interest. However, the accused continued to forcibly collect the principal amount and interest and also received death threats. Apart from this, the moneylenders had also sent a notice threatening to file a cheque return case by depositing the blank cheque taken earlier in the bank, due to which the complainant had to suffer mental torture. Police have registered a case based on the complaint and are conducting further investigations to nab the accused.
