A major action has been taken by CID Crime in a case of serious irregularities and corruption related to land titles. Rohit Babulal Pakhawala, the then Mamlatdar of Nandod in Narmada district, has been arrested on charges of misusing power and causing financial losses to the government to the tune of crores of rupees by colluding with private Assamese. In this old scam of the year 2008, there has been a huge stir in the revenue world as the law is tightened. CID Crime produced the accused before the court and obtained a three-day remand. During the investigation, it came to light that the accused Mamlatdar had colluded with other accused by misusing his government position and power. He was formally detained at 11.15 pm on June 4, 2026 and further legal proceedings (Inquest/Remand) are underway. According to police sources, the entire scam is not limited to just one person. CID Crime has also set the wheels of investigation in the direction of which other employees of the revenue department, middlemen or land mafias are involved in this entire land scam, so that there is a possibility of more arrests in the coming days.
