Amid the monsoon jam in Gujarat, Meghraja is batting explosively in South Gujarat. Heavy rains in Navsari district and upstream have overflowed local rivers and causeways, resulting in traffic in the district being badly affected. A total of 13 roads in the rural areas have been completely closed for traffic due to heavy rains. Due to the continuous inflow of upstream water, these 13 important roads under the Zilla Panchayat have been submerged in water. According to the administration, all these closed roads are mainly the main roads connecting remote villages of Navsari and Jalalpur talukas. There are fears that the road will be cut off due to flooding. It has been decided to close the roads with immediate effect as part of the safety measures by the administration due to water overtopping (OT) on low-lying areas and causeways in the district. The main roads that have been closed include Sarona-Sadalpur Road (low-level causeway overtopping), Khadsupa-Un Road (water from slab drain), Pardi-Sadlav Road (water at dangerous level on the causeway) and Supa Pera-Kuched Road (slab drain overtopping). The local administration has strongly appealed to the people not to cross rivers, nullahs or waterlogged causeways and to use alternative routes. The disaster management team is constantly monitoring the situation.
