The arrival of new chickpeas of the season has started in Jamnagar Hapa Marketing Yard and today the price of Murhut was traded at Rs 1355. The highest arrival was recorded at 22750 maunds of groundnuts and 11000 maunds of onions. A total of 22 items worth 55,988 maunds were auctioned at Hapa Yard on Friday. Vinodbhai Chandra, a farmer from Suvarda village, had brought 30 bags of new chickpeas of the season. In which Murhut was traded for Rs 1355. While sorghum 3, bajra 43, wheat 695, moong 33, urad 260, tur 5, choli 39, fenugreek 3, gram 423, castor 85, sesame 95, mustard 140, garlic 6723, cotton 6653, cumin 323, ajwain 3229, ajwain husk 1788, coriander 198, chilli 118, soybean 818 maunds and peas 54 maunds. On Friday, 11000 maunds of dried onions were put up for auction. In which 20 kg of onion was traded for only Rs 40 to Rs 320.
