In Patan district, the nomadic community support platform is doing a unique service for the elderly who are unable to do any work. Under the guidance of the founder of the organization, Mittalben Patel, a fitness program has been run for some time to provide two meals a day to about 150 destitute elderly people. Under this campaign, they are given ration kits with adequate materials every month. Special initiatives were taken by Mohanbhai Bajania, an activist of the organization, to ensure that the elderly were not deprived of the joy of the festival this month. Sweets and farsans were enthusiastically distributed as Diwali gifts along with ration kits of about 150 destitute mothers for a month by visiting the office of the organization in Harij as well as in the rural areas. The destitute elderly people were overwhelmed to receive sweets along with food grains at their homes on the eve of the festival and they blessed them with a sense of joy. Mohanbhai said that if there are any destitute, disabled and elderly people around them who are not able to earn, they have been requested to contact the organization to provide them with help.
