Pakistani spy associated with ISI caught from Bangladesh border: Living in India on fake documents; A carpenter from Kolkata helped

The West Bengal STF on Wednesday arrested a suspected Pakistani terrorist from the Indo-Bangladesh border. He has links with Pakistan's intelligence agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). He has been involved in espionage and terrorist activities. According to STF sources, the terrorist has been identified as Rana Rauf. He lived in India under the name Wahab Alam. He was trying to flee to Bangladesh. He was arrested from Bangaon in 24 Parganas district. According to STF sources, Rauf is originally a resident of Faisalabad, Pakistan. He came to India in 2012 via Nepal. He then moved to West Bengal. Preliminary investigations have revealed that he had sent important information related to senior Indian officials to Pakistan. The STF on Tuesday night arrested a man from Topsia, who had direct contact with Rauf and had helped him in many ways; However, he did not disclose his identity. Kolkata-based carpenter forged documents related to railway stations and the Army, Rauf said that a carpenter living in Kolkata's Topsia area had forged Indian documents for him. This includes voter card and Aadhaar card. Rauf and Carpenter met in Nepal. The carpenter was recently arrested on suspicion of being involved in terrorist activities, STF sources said. After receiving this information, Rauf tried to flee to Bangladesh. Based on the specific information received about his escape plan, the STF conducted a search operation in Bangaon on Wednesday morning. In the meantime, Rauf was caught. Arrests made earlier in Bengal STF action The police recently arrested a suspect associated with Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) from a residential township in Burdwan. Hamim is accused of monitoring the movement of CM Suvendu Adhikari. The action was followed by the police arresting Mandal's associate Arpita Sarkar from Jharkhand. Aditya Singh, a college student from Howrah, was also arrested. He is accused of providing information to the board.
