Three youths, including two relatives of Yerwada, were killed in a hit-and-run incident near Naviyani village in Patdi early yesterday morning. The three youths were interviewed on Wednesday and left for work early the next morning with new dreams. Nine members of the family have been killed in the accident due to the death of two relatives. While the mother of another young woman had gone to Junagadh with a Jain sadhvi, she returned after receiving the news of her son's death. The deceased have been identified as 30-year-old Bharatbhai Narshibhai Devipujak, 28-year-old Maheshbhai Narshibhai Devipujak and 20-year-old Sanjaybhai Bhathibhai Thakor, all residents of Erwada village in Patdi. Villagers told Divya Bhaskar that the three deceased youths were interviewed at a company in Becharaji on Wednesday itself. The matter was fixed at the rate of Rs 400 per day and the company was told to come to work from tomorrow. As soon as the job was confirmed, the three young men came home and the joy of getting the job was clearly visible on their faces. Left home early in the morning with a lot of hopes.
With the hope that the job would improve the financial condition of the family and the family would be able to eat bread happily, both the brothers and the third youth left home early in the morning on the same bike to go to work. Meanwhile, three youths were killed in a collision with an unknown vehicle near Naviyani. The three deceased were identified as small children and elderly parents.
In a conversation with Divya Bhaskar, the villagers said that the deceased two brothers have two children in the family of Bharat Devi Pujak. While the younger brother Mahesh has three daughters. Thus, five children, sisters and parents have become nine members of the family. The two brothers used to feed sheep and goats and sell old clothes to run their household in Gujarat. Both of the brothers' parents have had previous heart attacks and have undergone bypass surgery. Helpless father Narshibhai, who was crying with tears, said, "Both my sons left for work after seeing the situation at home and died on the first day. As soon as he said this, he started crying. After that, with tears in his eyes, he said, "My two sons are dead, now what should I do?" Sanjay's mother was in Junagadh and received the news of her son's death
On the other hand, the mother of the deceased Sanjay Bhathibhai Thakor had gone to Junagadh Vihar with Jain Sadhviji and later left to return after receiving the news of her son's death. Thus, the whole village was in a state of shock at the funeral of the three youths and the corners of the eyes of everyone present were wet with the heartbreaking cry of the family. It is not yet clear which vehicle took the lives of the youths
The police are yet to ascertain which vehicle ran over the three youths and fled. "After going through various CCTV footage, two vehicles appear suspicious and in the CCTV footage, the bike is seen behind the vehicle, but only the focus of its lights is visible," said PIV J Malviya of Dasada police station. It is not yet clear which vehicle caused the accident, but it appears that the trailer was hit in the accident, police are investigating.
