The forest department has come into action mode due to the increase in the movement of lions in the Rajula-Jafrabad diocese of Amreli district. Recently, forest officials managed to get a lion to cross the road safely on the Pipavav Port Four-Way Highway in Rajula. After incidents of lions being killed by vehicles in the past, patrolling on the highway has now been intensified by the administration. The accident was averted due to the vigilance of the forest officials.
When the lion was crossing the road on the Pipavav Port Highway, forest guard Raju Rajgor took quick action and stopped traffic on both sides of the highway. The lion crossed the road peacefully without any fear as the vehicles came to a halt. The entire operation is being carried out by a team of Rajula Range RFO Yogesh Kalsaria under the guidance of ACF Viral Singh Chavda of Shetrunji Division. Continuous monitoring on highways
The movement of lions is frequently seen on the Bhavnagar-Somnath National Highway and Pipavav Port Road. Keeping in view the safety of the lions, the officers and employees of the forest department are now patrolling the highway 24 hours a day along with the revenue area. A group of lions were also seen in Jafrabad
It is to be noted that just two days ago, a herd of more than 9 lions crossed the road near Lothpur village in Jafrabad taluka. Even at that time, a team of the forest department was present and safely passed through all the lions. Due to this activism of the forest department, there is a sense of joy among wildlife lovers.
