Before the government accepted the demands of Maratha agitation leader Manoj Jarange, thousands of supporters gathered in Mumbai in his support, after which the police have now put up a morcha at all entry points in Mumbai to stop the vehicles of the supporters. More than 60,000 supporters and over 7,000 vehicles entered Mumbai on Friday. More than 5,000 vehicles of supporters were parked on the roads in south Mumbai on Tuesday. Many supporters, instead of gathering at Azad Maidan, set up barricades on the streets of the city. In doing so, he violated the order of the High Court. On the fifth day, despite the high court's ban, some supporters did not miss the toss and seeing the possibility of more supporters coming to Mumbai, the police staged a morcha at all entry points in Mumbai to stop them, including supporters from entering Mumbai from Vashi, Airoli, Thane, Dahisar entry points. Barricades were set up with a tight police bandobast to stop them. All light vehicles, including cars, as well as emergency vehicles, were allowed to come to Mumbai only after investigation. The Mumbai Police has started taking action in view of the possibility of a law and order situation as thousands of supporters gathered in Mumbai demanding Maratha reservation and some started creating ruckus. Meanwhile, maratha agitators were beaten up by unidentified miscreants in a road rage incident in Navi Mumbai. The incident took place in Panvel area on Sunday afternoon, following which a case has been registered against 10 people. Police said a pick-up van carrying Jarangay's supporters was coming. The van collided with the car near Derawali Bridge following which an altercation broke out between the driver and supporters of the car. After some time the driver of the car called his men, after which the car driver and his colleagues thrashed the supporters and fled from the spot. One of the victims, Chandrakant Thorndler, lodged a complaint with the police. Police have registered a case under sections related to assault and rioting and launched an investigation.
