Traffic Awareness Programme held in Porbandar: Eklavya Sports Academy College students were guided on road safety

A traffic awareness programme was organized in Porbandar as part of the National Road Safety Month celebrations. The event was held under the guidance of superintendent of police Bhagirathsinh Jadeja and deputy superintendent of police Ritu Raba. The event was held at Eklavya Sports Academy College wherein detailed guidance was provided to the girl students of the college on road safety. Police inspector M.L. Ahir, police sub-inspector K.N. The guidance was given by a team from Adhera and Porbandar traffic branches. The students were explained important traffic rules with a view to prevent vehicle accidents. These include compulsory use of helmets and seat belts while driving, avoiding the use of mobile phones while driving, always driving slowly and controlly, and not driving on the wrong side. Apart from this, guidance was also given on how to be careful while driving for the safety of oneself and others. Information was also given about the Rahveer scheme of the government and its legal aspects to provide immediate help to the injured person during the road accident, and people were encouraged to come forward for humanitarian help. At the end of the programme, the traffic police appealed to all the girl students to strictly follow the traffic rules for their safety and security and to spread the information about these rules to others. The programme, which was held under the National Road Safety Month, has helped in spreading traffic awareness among the youth.
