Wife gets house in 2020, husband gets second in 2021 According to the shocking details revealed in the investigation, a woman named Meenaben Vijaybhai Loria applied under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and was allotted a house in Laxmanrao Township (EWS-1) in the year 2020. The legal document of the house was completed on October 1, 2020 and the couple had also deposited an amount of Rs 3,30,000 in instalments with the municipal corporation. However, in the lure of getting another house, her husband Vijaybhai Vinodbhai Loria filled a separate form for Sudama Township (EWS-2). Surprisingly, the administration allotted another house in the name of the husband in the year 2021 without any in-depth verification, in which the husband also deposited an amount of Rs 5,40,000. Despite the clear confession in the affidavit, the scrutiny officials turned a blind eye The administrative blindness of the administration has been revealed by examining the details of the notarized affidavit submitted by the petitioner Vijaybhai Loria on June 7, 2021. In this affidavit, the applicant has given a clear description that he already owns a flat. As per the rules, an applicant with a pucca house is disqualified for the housing scheme, but the responsible officials of the scrutiny department of the municipal corporation stamped the approval without bothering to read the papers. After this serious negligence came to light, now the total amount of Rs 8,70,000 paid by the couple for both the houses and what action will be taken against the responsible Babus. Housing committee chairman admits mistake Dilip Lunagaria, chairman of the municipal housing planning committee, said that the matter will be investigated by summoning the concerned officials and a meeting will be held with the five office bearers and the municipal commissioner to decide legal action. As per the rules, the second illegally acquired house will be confiscated by the administration, however, a humane attitude will be adopted to get back the deposit of the confiscated house as the applicant belongs to the general category.
