The fire broke out at Yes Bank on Race Course Ring Road in Rajkot city at around 11.35 pm on Monday. The fire department was immediately informed about the incident and the fire was brought under control with the help of 3 firefighters. During the investigation, it was found that all the furniture in the bank, as many as 12 computers and printers were burnt to ashes, causing a loss of lakhs of rupees. Fortunately, there was no damage to the cash vault as it was made of steel. Also, there is no locker in this branch and a big loss has been averted. Preliminary investigation revealed that the fire was caused by a short circuit. However, police and fire teams are currently investigating the cause of the fire. The fire broke out at Yes Bank on the first floor of a building at Zilla Panchayat Chowk in Rajkot city at around 11.35 pm on February 2. After which the fire gradually took a fierce form. The glass of the bank's window was shattered and exploded on the road below due to the heating caused by the fire. The fire was immediately reported to the police and fire department and efforts were made to douse the fire with the help of three firefighters who cleared the police traffic. The fire was extinguished by breaking the shutter of the bank with the help of a cutter
The fire was brought under control by spraying water on the front of the first bank. However, after a few minutes, the fire started again and with the help of a cutter, the shutter lock of the bank was broken and the fire was brought under control by spraying water from inside. All the furniture of the bank, as many as 12 computers and printers were gutted in the fire. The fire was brought under control around 12:35 p.m.
The fire was also reported to the bank officials during the night and the accident was reported at the head office. Following the incident, police PI as well as ACP level officers also rushed to the spot. The fire was completely brought under control around 12.35 pm.
