Employee unions in the field to stop privatisation policy: Appointment of outsourcing will endanger industrial peace
RAJKOT: Employees of the Gujarat State Transport Corporation (GSRTC) have protested against the move to recruit driver-conductor through outsourcing instead of permanent appointment of driver-conductor. The corporation has been given an ultimatum to recruit permanent driver-conductors immediately, saying that the outsourcing policy promotes privatisation.
The Gujarat State Transport Workers Federation, Gujarat State ST Employees Federation and Gujarat State ST Mazdoor Mahasangh have said that the number of cancellations is increasing due to the incident of drivers and conductors in the ST system. Therefore, driver-conductors should be recruited immediately in different divisions.
