Jagdish Vishwakarma's remarks on Geniben Thakor: Patan MLA Kirit Patel demands public apology

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president Jagdish Vishwakarma has made a derogatory remark against MP Geniben Thakor. After this remark, there has been a heated debate in political circles. Patan MLA Kirit Patel strongly condemned the use of language and asked Vishwakarma to apologise immediately. MLA Kirit Patel took to social media to protest against Jagdish Vishwakarma's statement. "The language used by the BJP state president for Geniben Thakor is not acceptable in any way. It is morally wrong to use such abusive words or language against any woman. Patel further added that on the one hand, the BJP talks about the dignity and safety of women, while on the other hand, its own responsible office-bearers make indecent remarks about women representatives. This exposes the double standard of the BJP. Kirit Patel asserted that Geniben Thakor is an active MP and the pride of the whole of Gujarat. Such words about an elected representative and a woman by the people hurt the dignity of democracy. The incident has sparked outrage in the political arena of Gujarat. The MLA has categorically demanded that Jagdish Vishwakarma should admit his mistake and publicly apologise to Geniben Thakor. After this statement, there are indications that the war of words between the BJP and the Congress on this issue will intensify in the coming days.
