Water cut on August 12 in Surat: Leakage repair work on distribution line, water supply stopped in these areas including Varachha, Ashwini Kumar

Important work of leakage repair work is to be taken up on the existing 1219 mm diameter M.S. distribution line located near Baroda Prestige Junction on Varachha Main Road in Old East Zone (Varachha-A) area of Surat and supplying water to Varachha and Central Zone. The repair work will start from 11 pm on Tuesday, 11th August 2026 to 6 pm the next day on Wednesday, 12th August 2026 due to water cuts in many areas. Water supply to the area from 5 am to 8 am is suspended. Due to this repair work, water supply will be completely cut off in some areas of the city on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. According to the order, water supply will remain suspended from 5 am to 8 am in the Central Zone (South Division), including all areas on the south side of the highway such as Begumpura, Salabatpura, Gopipura, Sagrampura, Nanpura, Rudrapura, Soni Falia and its surrounding areas, as well as Railway Station and Sumul Dairy area. Closed between 12.30 pm and 3.45 pm Apart from this, from 12:30 pm to 03:45 pm in East Zone-A (Varachha) area, water supply will be completely suspended in Railway Station, Sumul Dairy, Ashwini Kumar, Phulpada, Lambe Hanuman Road, Umarwada, Nana Varachha, Karanj, Kapodra as well as Sitaram Society, Aimata Road and all surrounding areas. There is a possibility of getting negligible water supply in all zones The water supply in all the above zones and areas is likely to be low pressure, lesser quantity or negligible on Thursday, 13th August, 2026, the day after completion of repair work. In such a situation, the Municipal Corporation humbly appeals to all the citizens of the concerned area to take adequate notice of this, store the amount of water they need in advance and cooperate with the municipality by using it in a very economical manner. Water supply will be restored as soon as the repair work is completed earlier than scheduled.
