Vadodara: Prayers of 'Har Har Mahadev' and 'Om Namah Shivay' resonate with Shiva temples, devotees throng ancient temples including Kashi Vishwanath

The holy month of Sawan has started today with reverence and devotion in the cultured city of Vadodara. Since early morning, the entire city has been in an atmosphere of Shiva and the people of the city are painted in the colours of Shiva Bhakti. The city's Shiva temples reverberate with the sacred chants of 'Har Har Mahadev' and 'Om Namah Shivay'. The incessant flow of devotees to the temples has started since early morning on the first day of the holy month.Devotees throng the city's ancient and famous Shiva temples such as Kashi Vishwanath, Siddhnath Mahadev, Ranmukteshwar Mahadev, Pratapnath and other holy shrines of Mahadev. Devotees are offering jalabhishek, dugdhabhishek, bili patra, numerical flowers and ashes on the Shivling to appease Lord Shiva. Since early morning, women, men and youth have been standing in a queue in a disciplined manner to avail the darshan and puja.Elaborate arrangements have been made by the temple trusts and local administration in view of the rush of devotees during the month of Sawan. Barricading and separate queues have been arranged for darshan in the temples to facilitate the devotees. Apart from this, a team of security personnel and volunteers are also deployed for security. In the evening, special attractive shringar, Maha Aarti and Rudrabhishek of Mahadev are planned in various temples.With the onset of the month of Sawan, the main markets of the city are also witnessing a lot of hustle and bustle. As a large number of people are fasting and fasting, the markets are crowded to buy Farali items, fruits as well as puja, flower garlands and pujajis.Throughout the month of Sawan, Vadodara city will witness a series of devotional programs, Shiv Katha and religious festivals. This holy month imparts not only religious faith but also gives the message of peace, harmony and unity among the people. The fervor and devotion of Lord Shiva will continue in the city for the next entire month.
