Bhavnagar Municipal Corporation successfully organized a 'Swadeshi Cyclothon' in the city today with the aim of taking the message of 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' and 'Vocal for Local' to the masses. To spread awareness about the use of indigenous products and promote fitness and an environmentally friendly lifestyle, the participants took a pledge to use items made in India and contribute to the economic development of the nation, with more enthusiastic citizens, youth and senior citizens participating in this cyclothon. The cyclothon was started from Atabhai Chowk in the city by the dignitaries, which passed through Gulista Maidan, Central Salt, Water Tank, Jewelers Circle, Candle Circle, Neelambagh, Jail Road, Dadasaheb Jain Derasar, Radha Mandir Traffic Signal and returned to Atabhai Chowk. The cyclists on this route filled the atmosphere with patriotic songs and slogans of Swadeshi.Dignitaries including Bhavnagar Mayor Bharatbhai Barad, Commissioner Meena flagged off the cyclothon on the occasion, and in his address said, "Swadeshi is not just an economic policy, but it is a spirit of national pride and self-reliance. Cycling benefits both health and environment, which are essential for building an Atmanirbhar and Swastha Bharat." The Prime Minister expressed the commitment to continue such events in future as well to give a boost to the idea of Swadeshi. Energy drinks along with drinking water arrangements were also arranged for the participants at every point on the route of this indigenous cyclathon. Each participant in this cyclothon was awarded a certificate by Bhavnagar Municipal Corporation.
