The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) has announced important special facilities for the differently-abled students in connection with the Class 10 and 12 board exams to be held in February 2027. Under these facilities, the differently-abled examinees of the state including Kutch will get an extra 1 hour in the 3-hour question paper, which will make their paper total 4 hours. Students of Kutch with blindness, low vision, deaf-sightedness, physical disability, cerebral palsy and learning disabilities appearing for the board exams will have to register their disability category properly while filling the exam form. To avail these facilities, it will be mandatory to submit the disability certificate of the Government Civil Hospital or Medical Board to the school, which will be uploaded by the school along with the form. As per the rules, all the differently-abled students have also been completely exempted from the board examination fees. After selecting the 'Yes' option in the form for the convenience of the students who are unable to write, the principal of the school will have to apply for approval at the office of the District Education Officer (DEO) in Bhuj along with the necessary documents. Large print question papers for visually impaired students will be asked, seats on the ground floor for physically challenged students and alternative descriptive questions will be asked instead of diagram-maps for visually impaired students. This should be kept in mind while filling the exam forms
