Vadodara, Nov 9 (UNI) The Settlement Commissioner and the Director of Land Offices have decided to re-delegate the power to collect revenue in the municipal corporations and municipal areas across the state.
According to a notification published in the Gazette in January 2018 by the Gujarat government, the power to collect revenue was vested in the Talati, which was transferred from them to the Maintenance Surveyors of the City Survey Office. As soon as the maintenance surveyors were given the power to collect revenue, the protest started from the beginning. Apart from making property cards, work including measurement and lack of staff made it difficult to collect revenue due to workload.
