Vadodara: The Crime Branch has succeeded in solving the mystery of the theft of ancient idols and jewellery from Akota's house Derasar.
CA Pratapbhai Bavchandbhai Shah, who lives in Ami Flat behind Akota Stadium, built a house on the ground floor of Chetan Society and installed 500-year-old Panchadhatu idols of Lord Shri Sumatinath and Shri Shantinath Prabhuji. The statues and jewellery, including a 500-gram silver crown and an American diamond necklace, were stolen on the night of May 29.
Crime Branch ACP DJ Chavda and his team formed different teams to examine more than 100 CCTVs and found the behaviour of the three bike-borne youths to be suspicious.
