Two-year-old Bhagirath Devasi fell into an open borewell in Jhalaria village near Badnagar, around 75 kilometres from Ujjain. The rescue team found its location to be at a depth of 75 feet. SDRF commandant Santosh Jat said, "We are trying to get the child out by putting a rope ring on his hand. A joint team of NDRF and SDRF is also constructing a parallel tunnel to reach Bhagirath with the help of 5 Poklane machines. The work has been stopped due to rock formation after 40 feet of excavation. The rescue team has called in a hammer machine to break the rocks. There is also water in a borewell 200 feet deep. Bhagirath fell into the borewell at around 7.30 pm on Thursday. The NDRF team from Bhopal is engaged in joint rescue operations with SDRF from Harda, Indore and Ujjain. The condition of the child is being monitored by installing cameras in the borewell. He is also being given oxygen support. Two ambulances have also been deployed at the spot. Bhagirath's father, Praveen Dewasi, hails from Rajasthan's Pali district. The family had been staying in the area for the past three days to graze sheep. According to the family, the child was playing near the wall. He removed the lid of the borewell with a stone and stepped on it thinking it was a bucket, due to which he fell straight inside. The mother saw him fall and tried to save him, but by then he had gone deeper. Look at the pictures of the rescue. Rescue teams of Indore-Ujjain SDRF; It is difficult to say how long it will take Ujjain SDRF commandant Santosh Kumar Jat said efforts are being made at three levels to save the child. Rescue operations are underway. SDRF teams from Indore and Ujjain are engaged in rescue work. Initially, the baby was about 40 feet deep. An attempt was made to pull it from above, but three or four attempts failed. The rescue team failed. The child got stuck in his clothes two or three times while pulling up, but got loose while pulling up. This posed more of a challenge for the rescue team. The child has slipped further down. It is now estimated that it has reached a depth of about 70 feet. This has made rescue operations more difficult. It is difficult to say how long it will take A parallel pit is being dug near the borewell at the second level. However, this process may take longer. Therefore, work is being done simultaneously at both levels. It is unclear how long the rescue operation will take. The team is constantly striving. Rescue operations are going on on a war footing.
