Vadodara: Investigation into alleged irregularities in MGNREGA in Ranipura village

In Ranipura village of Savli taluka, the investigation has started following allegations and representations of villagers of alleged irregularities and corruption in the works done under the MGNREGA scheme. The investigation is being carried out by the TDO of Dabhoi.

The villagers of Ranipura village in Savli taluka have alleged corruption in the works of the MNREGA scheme since 2018. According to the villagers' allegation, no work has been done on the spot. And about 300 fake job cards have been made and withdrawn from the money account. While many job card holders themselves have never gone to work in MGNREGA. They have not even gone to the bank. Yet, the accounts have been opened. Serious allegations have been made that the money has been withdrawn. The matter was presented to the District Development Officer yesterday. Following this, Dabhoi reached Ranipura village as an investigating officer. On-the-spot inspection of various works and places done under MGNREGA was conducted. Praveen Singh Gohil, a conscious citizen of Ranipura village, received an estimated amount of Rs. Allegations of alleged corruption of Rs 3 to 4 crore were made. In this regard, a written representation was made to the concerned officials including Savli TDO, Vadodara District Development Officer. After this, the investigating officer has gone to the spot and started examining the works done under MGNREGA. During the investigation, it is being investigated whether there is any irregularity between the records, approved works and the work done at the site. Now, at the end of the investigation, the entire taluka is meeting on whether any truth comes out in the alleged allegations.
