Shortage of diabetes-BP medicine in SSG Hospital, patients troubled: Superintendent admits shortage for the last three months, GMSCL has trouble not supplying the problem

There has been a serious case of severe shortage of life-saving medicines in the central SSG Hospital in Vadodara for some time now. Thousands of patients come to the largest hospital in Central Gujarat every day for treatment, but there is not enough stock of medicines to give to these patients. The hospital authorities themselves are saying that there is not enough stock of 350 medicines out of a total of 1,000 in the hospital. At the same time, due to lack of medicines, patients have to work with less medicines. There has been a shortage of medicines for 3 months SSG Hospital RMO Dr. Hitendra Chauhan has acknowledged the seriousness of the situation in an official statement. He said that there is a severe shortage of medicines in the hospital, especially for very important diseases like diabetes and blood pressure. Out of the total 1000 medicines required by the hospital, about 350 medicines are either shortage or short supply, due to which thousands of patients who come for treatment are facing severe difficulties. RMO Dr. Hitendra Chauhan said that the shortage of these medicines has been continuously going on for the last three months. GMSCL is not supplying medicines on time Medicines are usually supplied to the hospital by GMSCL (Gujarat Medical Services Corporation Limited), but this dire situation has arisen due to non-timely supply of medicines by GSCL. Due to non-availability of necessary medicines from the government on time, the system is forced to purchase medicines by conducting a local tender process. In some cases, patients have to prescribe medicines from outside. However, medicines are given according to the stock in the government hospital so that poor patients do not face any problem. SSG consumes more than 30 crore medicines annually At present, there is a direct shortage of medicines of about 25 to 30 per cent against the daily requirement of the patients. Medicines worth more than Rs 30 crore are consumed in Sayaji Hospital every year, which shows how large the flow of patients is here. A detailed report and report is also being sent to the government at the highest level every month on the availability and short supply of medicines by the hospital administration. However, for the last three months, patients and their relatives have been forced to buy medicines at expensive prices from outside, which has led to widespread dissatisfaction at the local level.
