Vadodara Railway SOG has seized 10.22 kg of illicit ganja valued at approximately Rs. 1,02,200 from Shalimar-Porbandar Express. The unclaimed ganja was recovered from a black coloured bag which was found in an unclaimed condition in the corridor between coach numbers S/06 and S/07 of the train. 10.22 kg of ganja was recovered from the bag
Train number 12906 was checked by the Vadodara Railway Police Mission Clean Railway Station during which it was checked. After the train passed through Adas Railway Station, unmarked bags were found in corridor between coach S/06 and S/07. A total of 10.22 kg of ganja was recovered from the bag, which is believed to have been illegally brought from the state by an unknown person. The man left the bag in the train and fled fearing being caught by the police. A search has been launched for the accused.
The Railway SOG has registered a case under NDPS Act at the Railway Police Station for further action in this regard. Further investigations have been launched to find out who brought the ganja and where it was to be supplied as well as where the accused is.
