Vadodara: VMC to run 30 new electric buses; Thousands of commuters will get relief every day

Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has come up with a wonderful gift for the citizens of the cultured city of Vadodara ahead of the festive season. With the aim of making urban life and public transport more modern and convenient, 30 new electric buses (E-Buses) have been added to the municipal fleet. Preparations have been made by the administration to launch these buses on October 7 to facilitate the movement of citizens during the upcoming Diwali festivals.

The total number of e-buses in the city has reached 80

So far, about 50 electric buses were operating on different routes in Vadodara city. More than 9,100 daily passengers are taking advantage of this service every day. Now with the addition of 30 new buses, the total number of electric buses running in the city will directly increase to 80. With the arrival of new buses, the frequency will increase and passengers will get rid of long waits at bus stops.

Traffic and parking problems will be eased

Traffic and parking problems will ease with Diwali shopping, as the festivals are approaching, there is a huge rush to shop in the markets. With the introduction of 30 new e-buses, people taking private vehicles will shift to public transport, which will reduce the problem of traffic jams on the main roads of the city.

 New routes will also be covered

An official announcement will be made soon by the municipal authorities to flag off these buses on October 7 and dedicate them to the public for the benefit of the people. These new buses will be run on routes covering areas of the city which were so far less connected, as well as major railway stations, bus depots and new emerging suburbs. There is a lot of enthusiasm among the townspeople as public transport is becoming cheaper, comfortable and faster ahead of Diwali.
