The beat of drums and the rhythm of the new year begins In this unique event, organized by the 'Ramjat Group' in Keshod, the new year started with the beat of dhol and the rhythm of Raas-Garba instead of modern music. Dressed in traditional attire, all citizens from young children to the elderly enthusiastically joined the event. The atmosphere became reverential and cultural, with the fragrance of folk culture amidst the resounding applause. Efforts to liberate the younger generation from the influence of Western culture and orient them towards culture The main objective behind this event was to liberate today's young generation from the influence of Western culture and return them to their roots. Parmar Vishal, the organiser of the event, said, "We have done this small venture in the courtyard of Keshod. The event was organised by the 'Ramjat Group' to re-emphasise the importance of our Sanatan culture and the age-old tradition of Raas-Garba as the younger generation is turning towards Western dance and disco. The event was attended by not only Keshod but also the entire Saurashtra region. Seeing this craze for Garba among the youth, it has been proved that if given the right opportunity, the new generation is ready to proudly embrace its tradition even today. Raas Utsav witnesses scenes of collective unity and family spirit While disco parties are crowded with strangers, Keshod's Raas-Utsav witnessed scenes of collective unity and family. The elderly also enjoyed dandiya raas with the youngsters. This celebration has given a big message in the society that not only western recipes are needed to be enjoyed, but our culture is equally joyful and meaningful. Cultural programmes are expected to be held on a large scale in the coming years as well. This unique celebration in Keshod is now being appreciated all around. People believe that if such adventure events are held in every city, then the younger generation can be connected with the true heritage of the culture by saving them from addiction and western distortions.
