Yasin Malik seeks hanging for himself: Kashmiri Pandit Sarla Bhat will not fight murder case; Affidavit says - Will divorce his wife

Jailed Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Mohammad Yasin Malik has denied his role in the murder case of a Kashmiri Pandit woman. Yasin has submitted a 25-page affidavit in which he has sought the death penalty for himself from the court. Yasin Malik is currently lodged in Tihar Jail. He is accused of the murder of Sarala Bhatt. Although Malik has pleaded not guilty, he has refused to fight the case and has demanded the death penalty. He claimed that the allegations against him seem like a fabricated story. The case was made decades later to implicate him. Malik's affidavit comes after the State Investigating Agency (SIA) filed a chargesheet in the Sarla Bhatt murder case on June 29. In the affidavit, the 60-year-old Malik also mentioned his decision to end his marriage with his wife Mushal Hussain. He said that the reason for this is the long imprisonment and not being able to communicate with the family for the last 8 years. Yasin said that he was not given the facility of phone calls or video conferencing. In the affidavit, Malik wrote for his wife, "Before going to the gallows, I have decided to separate you from the bond of our nikaah. I don't want you to spend the rest of your life as a widow bearing the burden of my situation." Malik advised his daughter Razia Sultana to talk to her grandparents for 5 minutes every day. She wrote, "In my death cell, there is only a picture of me and you. Through your picture, I feel like I am with you 24 hours a day." -------------------------------- Read this news also...
